The Old CrossStitch

As many of you know, Donna has made trivets for several years to sell in the Gift Shop. Last Summer's production was curtailed by an increasingly painful shoulder. She made the reluctant decision to discontinue that hobby. This Spring she sold much of her supplies to a couple of ladies in the Park. She used to cross stitch quite a bit; if any of you have visited our home, you have seen some fine examples of her work. Well ... about 22 years ago we visited New Zealand, and on our way out of the country, she spent the last of our New Zealand money on a HUGE crossstitch. She worked on it, on and off, for many years, but nine years ago she put it away to be worked on at some future date. That future date has arrived!! Luckily she can work on it without much pain to her shoulder - something about "no shoulder motion like the trivet's required". Here it is in it's current condition. I'm hoping she gets it finished so we can have it framed and placed above our bed (to replace an antique sampler crossstich reproduction she also completed many years ago!).
