Warming Up

It's 90 degrees now, and it feels pretty good. Forecasted to be 111 on Sunday - hope that feels good, too.

Just finished spraying all the weeds. Ran over the sprayer hose at the last house - we're now going out to shop for a replacement.

Lot's of leaves/flowers/pollen/stuff laying on the ground. I'm becoming a believer in Cactus Only landscaping. Keith, Donna says "chop that damn thing down".

The facebook security problems are getting some press. Be careful.

We watered and did inside checks on applicable Park Models today. Park is very quiet.

We will do some outside cleaning and spraying in a couple of days - after wind dies down.

Do any of you remember saying you had put down weed killer, and the yard should be weed free? Not! Everybody has those pesky things.

Google Wave is now available to everyone. Look for some new announcements from Google regarding this service. Maybe a replacement for facebook???

Leo Laporte

I've been following Leo Laporte for years (maybe 20). He now has several podcasts, tv shows, and radio shows; all of which are to help people with technology problems. His "The Tech Guy" is my favorite. You can get it from iTunes or Listen (android project). He, and others, have been talking about the increasing security problems surrounding facebook. Today he put his money where his mouth is - he donated to a Diaspora Project. This project is to develop an open-source system to replace facebook. I believe that is a good endeavor, so I have donated as well. See the sidebar for information links to Diaspora.

Facebook & Twitter

I've, once again, decided against Facebook. You will not find me there.

However, I'm giving twitter a try - I like the short messages. And, I think it's a quick and easy way to keep up-to-date on a person's activities (hopefully they won't tell you everything about what they're doing.

My new twitter name is @steve_shaff. Any Gold Canyon Caretaking tweets will be from @stevecaretaker.

Hope this works!
