Uploading Photos

I've been trying to upload photos to the blog, but it seems like Google is VERY slow today.  Unable to post photos at this time.

Working the Gift Shop

One of my hobbies is photography and I've created several cards to be sold in our Park's gift shop.  In order to reduce the fees paid to the Activities Department, each crafter works a shift in the shop.  Today is my month's shift.

The type of photo I take is HDR.  Take a look at www.stuckincustoms.com for examples.

I will soon display some photos of our Tiny House using this technique.  In the meantime, try these photos - http://bit.ly/b3j1Hh.

Tiny Houses

I'm intrigued by the various web blogs regarding Tiny Houses.  We've been living in a Tiny House for several years and failed to realize this growing movement!  Although some of the houses depicted on these blogs are smaller than ours, it appears the definition of a Tiny House is somewhat subjective.  Since we've been living this lifestyle for several years, I'm changing the direction of this blog to that concept.  It'll still cover "stuff", but will have a little more information on our lifestyle.
I hope you find it interesting.
BTW, we now have the smallest house we've ever had (400 square feet); the smallest car (Toyota Yaris); and, the smallest RV (22' Pleasureway Van Conversion).  Our footprint on this world is getting smaller.

Hello

Sure has been a long time since my last post. A variety of things seem to get in the way.

The most significant - I experienced a Cardiac Catheter Ablation in early October. I've had atrial fibrillation for many years, and the drugs being used seemed to be less effective, so rather than trying yet again another drug, I opted for this minimally invasive procedure. My doctor did not describe what I might experience subsequent to the procedure - had I known the possibilities, I might have declined.

Several days after the procedure, I experienced very rapid heart beats, high blood pressure, erratic heart beats, headaches, and so forth. Calls to the emergency line resulted in responses like "you should expect this due to the procedure - it is not uncommon". Well, now you tell me!

I'm still on my rhythm medicine, and the plan is to gradually reduce it AND my need for coumadin. Stay tuned - this could take months.

My other life ----

Donna is going full blast with her new Activities Director job. She's having fun (almost all of the time) and the best thing about the job, in her opinion, is that I get the opportunity to cook and wash dishes!!! I suppose that is fair.

Since I no longer sell park models, I have time to work on computers (both mine and others), install lights on our deck, create a hard drive for the Wii, etc. I think we'll both keep busy this winter. But, you know what? I'm already looking forward to Summer. How strange is that?

Making DVDs

An interesting site about making your own DVD.

OCGG Meeting

Today's meeting was attended by four people (myself included).  There were no particular topics presented, but rather a give and take of ideas.  Some problems were solved and some were not.  A productive meeting.

I tried to get attendees interested in Twitter, but the bad press Facebook has received seems to dampen people's appreciation of what Twitter can do.  I'll keep trying.

Attendees are realizing the power of the internet for multi-media gathering.  With a simple laptop AND a fast internet connection (the current Mediacom offering in the park!) users can watch an unlimited variety of programming.  All free!

Next week we'll try to discuss Dropbox and whatever new topic that is sure to arise.
